Our client is an international Manufacturing / Construction company     We are looking for the Europe EHS Director (environmental, health & safety)   Position based anywhere in Europe
Reporting to the Global VP EHS and responsible for leading EHS activities and continual improvement processes across all European Regions (20 countries).

This high-level position, provides leadership and advocacy for disciplined EHS programs to ensure the protection of our employees, oversite of sub-contractors and protection of the environment.

As a member of the senior management team, the EHS Director is responsible for ensuring that each Business Unit is in legal compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.   He/she will work closely with the Business Leadership Executive Teams in each region as well as all members of management to build a productive, proactive and effective EHS environment.

Develop programs and initiatives to promote improvements throughout Europe (Installation project, Manufacturing and Customer Services).  
JOB FUNCTIONS  
- Project implementation on client’s sites (factories) Lead and manage the organization’s EHS function with direct responsibility for a team of EHS professionals working across Europe (direct line with 20 individuals all over Europe).
- Develop and implement programs in partnership with the leadership of each Function and Manufacturing Plants across Europe.
- Create a “Best In Class” safety culture by using behavioural safety methods and continuous improvement to motivate and influence leaders and employees.
- Deliver formal and informal communication on key EHS activities to senior level management and offer potential solutions as appropriate.
- Serve as a member of the Corporate EHS Council to partner across all business segments in driving a global EHS strategy.
- Ensure regional EHS Managers monitor, interpret and implement regulatory requirements necessary to comply with Country and local statutes. Work proactively with Business leaders on process changes and new process and equipment implementations to address the impact of environmental, health and safety requirements. Ensure EHS personnel are part of the review/approval for material or process changes.
Ensure all Environmental and Safety compliance records and reporting are maintained in accordance with corporate specifications and regulatory requirements (ISO 9001,  ISO14001 -

Based on its comprehensive WHS (Work Health and Safety system), our client achieved accreditation to the AS/NZS 4801 Occupational health and management system standards specification and OHSAS 18001
Occupational health and safety management system requirements.

Profil

University degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related discipline. Knowledge and experience in safety and environmental management systems OHSAS 18001/ ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001.
International Experience across Europe Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety in construction and/or manufacturing.
Prior proven experience achieving measurable and sustainable EHS results in a lean environment. Prior experience in leading a Team of International EHS professionals.
Proven ability to build effective relationships (good listener) at all levels of the organization and influence changes that affect the Business.
Must have the ability to be a working manager and at the same time develop long term strategy and deliver high level briefings at a moment’s notice to company executives.
Strong project management skills to drive the implementation of large-scale EHS initiatives.
Prior experience in leading efforts in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 Leadership with Ability to work well with all levels of employees throughout the organization.
Must have a strong understanding and the ability to read and speak the English language (at least fluent).
Ability to travel up to 50%
Position can be based anywhere in Europe
